ASSIGNMENT #4

Professional packet, packaging and logo

For the purposes of self-promotion, you are to create a professional packet that will require you to create a series of documents that all professional artists always have available. You will produce a short biography, a 1-page resume, and a curriculum vita (CV). You will submit drafts of these documents to me, receive feedback and comments, and then revise and finalize your documents. Next semester you will be writing your artist statements as part of your degree project. These will eventually be added to your collection of self promotion documents as well.

I would also like you all to take a stab at creating a logo.  This could be something that should translate well to packaging, letter head, websites, makers mark, rubber stamp etc.  Think about what format your log might fall into.  Is it your initials? Is is a signature?  Is it a graphic element? Research other artists.  Find out what they do.

Melanie Bilenker today!

Hello all!  I hope you all have questions prepared.  Everyone should ask a question today!

I will look at your statements soon.  Please keep forwarding me your questions.

Also as a reminder we will be going on our field trip to Boston next week.  We will be leaving from the CHACE center at 12:30! Pack a lunch or eat before hand.

We will be visiting the MIT hobby shop and Gallery ORE (still no word back from the Nervous System)

See you soon!
